about me

Hi, I’m Kelly.

I’m an eating disorder recovery coach, Carolyn Costin–certified, and fully recovered with over 20 years of sustained recovery.

But more than credentials, what matters is this:
I’ve lived this.
I know the fear. The rules. The bargaining. The “I’ll start tomorrow.”
And I also know that full recovery is not only possible – it’s sustainable, peaceful, and worth it.

My work is rooted in lived experience, clinical understanding, and deep respect for how hard recovery can feel. I don’t believe in quick fixes, building an identity around food rules, or shaming you into change. I believe in truth, support, accountability, and compassion – all at the same time.

What Is Eating Disorder Recovery Coaching?

Recovery coaching is not therapy – and it’s not a replacement for it.

It’s the bridge between knowing what to do and actually doing it.

As a recovery coach, I help you:

  • Interrupt eating disorder behaviors in real time
  • Build skills for meals, urges, body image, and daily life
  • Develop trust in yourself instead of rules
  • Learn how to tolerate discomfort without compensating
  • Stay accountable when motivation dips
  • Practice recovery outside the therapy room

Coaching is practical, relational, and forward-moving.
We focus on action, patterns, and support, not digging into the past.

How I Coach

I coach from a place of full recovery – which means I won’t collude with the eating disorder, but I will deeply respect the part of you that’s scared.

You can expect:

  • Clear, compassionate honesty
  • Gentle but firm accountability
  • Tools you can actually use in the moment
  • Support between sessions (because recovery doesn’t only happen once a week)
  • A non-diet, weight-neutral, recovery-first approach

I often say:
You don’t need more information. You need support while you practice.

That’s where coaching comes in.

Who Coaching Is For

Recovery coaching may be a good fit if:

  • You’re medically stable and ready to actively work on recovery
  • You know what you “should” do, but can’t seem to follow through
  • You’re stuck in behaviors even though you want change
  • You want support that’s practical, encouraging, and real
  • You’re ready to stop negotiating with the eating disorder

You do not need to feel confident or motivated – just willing.

My Philosophy

I believe:

  • An eating disorder is not who you are – it’s something you do
  • Behaviors can change, even when emotions lag behind
  • Recovery often feels worse before it feels better
  • You are not broken – you’re practicing something new
  • Freedom is built through consistent, imperfect action

And I believe in you, even when you don’t yet believe in yourself.

What Recovery With Me Looks Like

Recovery with me is not about perfection.
It’s about showing up again and again, learning from slips, and slowly building a life where food and your body are no longer the center of every thought.

You don’t have to do this alone.
And you don’t have to wait until you feel “ready.”

Ready to Take the Next Step?

If this resonates, I’d love to support you.
